How far are you willing to go?

We knew that we needed to acquire social media followers to make our business successful. The problem is that we didn’t grow up with social media. We didn’t even have flip phones. We were Generation X. We grew up fist fighting, having BB gun wars and bottle rocket battles, staging dangerous pranks, riding down the highway in the back of trucks and drinking water from the garden hose. We were experts at finding crazy ways to express ourselves outdoors. “I dare you” was part of our daily conversation. Naturally, these were the roots we returned to when brainstorming ways to get everyone’s attention online.

We had been planning a trip to Colorado. It seemed like a great place to make some videos for TikTok. We didn’t know what the hell to record, but we were both up to the challenge. We both love to dance and had noticed that people seemed to enjoy those types of videos.

I asked Mel if she would be willing to climb a mountain and record a dance video at the summit. “Of course! What do you have in mind?” She asked.

”Well I was thinking that we could climb to the top. You could change into some kind of sexy alien costume and wear our Aliens 2024 t-shirt” I suggested. She gave me a little smirk.

”And what are you going to do?” She asked.

”I’ll do whatever you want! I’ll strip down and shake my ass in a pink thong if you pull off a good video!” I giggled.

She laughed her ass off in delight. “I fucking dare you!” She said.

Now the lesson here is that you should always think before you speak. Gen X, remember? I couldn’t back down from a dare. And I didn’t.

We ordered everything to make her look as alien as possible. The perfect alien mask, green sleeves, green paint, some tight booty shorts and of course our Aliens 2024 t-shirt. She also wasted no time ordering a pink thong for yours truly. Just tight enough to suffocate my balls. We were all set for our first videos.

The trip came and after a few days, we acclimated to the altitude. We chose to do the hike up to Twin Sister’s in Rocky Mountain National Park to shoot our videos. It was an 8 mile climb with a nasty scramble to the summit.

When we got to the summit, we stripped down completely naked. We changed clothes and made our first videos at 12,800 feet above sea level. In 27 degrees in high wind. That thong was awfully damn cold.

They say that the best part of achieving a goal is in the journey. That is indisputable.

For anyone interested, the videos are on our TikTok page at C&M Authentic. Enjoy!
